Reflections from a Visit to Walden Pond
The circuit around Walden Pond is a mesmerizing walk and it provides a flashback of a spiritual quest by Henry David Thoreau. The scent of fresh spring air, blossoming flowers, the new budding green on trees all around and an emerald green color of the pond under partial cloudy skies – all created that perfect moment of bliss and the feeling of oneness with nature.
Looking at the spot when Henry David Thoreau built his cabin, the sign nearby reads a quote from Walden: “I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived”. That says it all. A teaching moment to reflect on the reality of life.
