A Walk in the Woods – Delaware Water Gap
It has been a while since I have climbed anything noteworthy. However the beauty of the mountain path is that it does not have to be big challenging mountains all the time.
A simple walk in the woods can be just as refreshing and energizing. During a recent trip to the New York area, I went for a walk with a few friends in the Delaware water gap area to Sunfish pond. This simple trail is filled with pristine beauty with the gushing sound of a fast flowing stream and several small waterfalls tucked between snow covered hills. The trail also crosses and overlaps with the famous Appalachian trail for part of it.
With the severe east coast winter, Sunfish pond was completely frozen offering an opportunity to walk on it with microspikes. We intoxicated ourselves with some hot Indian Chai tea and mirch snacks. What could be better than that – quality time with friends on a trail with some Chai tea and snacks!
